As the semester comes to a close with the graduation of the class of 2018, the summer is a time that gets people excited about vacation, graduation parties, and going to the beach.
People also get excited when all the big Summer Blockbusters hit the big screen, and this summer is filled with a lot of sequels and reboots and new original films that the studios hope people will invest their money in.
All I can say is that summer is starting early next week on April 27 when the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters.
The first film in 2012 grossed $623,357,910 and the second film grossed $459,005,868.
The film is already breaking more records than any superhero film with ticket sales on Fandango and I am sure we are going to see people heading to the theaters for this one. It’s probably going to be #1 at the box office until yet another Marvel film hits theaters on May 18th which is Deadpool 2.
This is the film I am most excited for since I was such a fan of the first movie and it did become the highest grossing R rated film back in February 2016.
I am sure Deadpool 2 is going to do twice as good as the first movie and we all know it’s going to be a war at the box office Memorial Day Weekend when Solo: A Star Wars Story flys into theaters. Everyone loves Star Wars, but people were split on “The Last Jedi.”
Due to so many conflictions with the film, such as switching directors and also going through tremendous reshoots, will Solo succeed at the Box Office?
On June 8th, a new kind of Ocean’s 11 film hits theaters with an all-female cast led by Sandra Bullock in the sequel/reboot of Ocean’s 11 which is Ocean’s 8. It’s already getting a lot of hate on the internet but will it be a box office Sleeper or a flop?
The next week on June 15, Disney and Pixar will finally release the long-awaited sequel to 2004’s The Incredibles, The Incredibles 2. The film will be more of a continuation of the first movie and also another message about female empowerment.
Without a doubt, this movie is going to do very well at the box office along with the dinosaurs that will be hitting the theaters on June 22. What is this film?
A small indie film called Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Jurassic World was the king of the summer 2015 box office and it looks like the sequel is going to be bigger.
Sicario: Day of Silado is also another film to talk about and it’s the sequel to 2015’s Sicario. It looks gritty, brutal and yes bloody and Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Torro are probably going to make a great film but I think it may no go well with moviegoers. The reason why is because the first film I feel came in and out of the movies too quickly. Paul Rudd will be back as Ant-Man in Ant-Man and The Wasp and that will probably succeed along with Dwayne Jonhson’s new movie, Skyscraper.
“Mamma Mia… Here We Go Again… Why Why… Why is this movie happening.” I mean really the first movie happened, and the play happened, but why is Universal coming out with a Mamma Mia Sequel? The previews don’t look too convincing but the first film did well, however, will moviegoers want to see a sequel ten years later? We’ll find out.
I have been also been a huge fan of the Mission Impossible franchise and I thought Rogue Nation was indeed the best one. I geeked out on Super Bowl Sunday when I watched the first preview for Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The fifth film grossed about a successful $195,042,377 at the box office and the sixth installment looks promising enough to make this Tom Cruise’s most impossible mission yet. I am very excited to see this film on July 29th.
