On March 29, a live concert sponsored by I Heart Radio media called the “I Heart Radio Living Room Concert” was broadcasted across the country live on Fox.

Performers included Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, The Backstreet Boys, Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, Demi Lovato, and much more.

“I really enjoyed how the music industry did this with some of the biggest artists, who came together to share a lighthearted program for everyone. It was extremely uplifting and something I really enjoyed!” said junior Kali D’ Agostinis.

This was a benefit concert held for the coronavirus and was hosted by Elton John. John opened the show in his living room and listed the roundup of singers and addressed the public on ways we all could help each other. During the show, John asked the public to help donate to two charity organizations, Feeding America and the Children’s Foundation.

“One thing that I really liked about the livestream on Fox was how music would bring everyone together during a time of crisis and negativity,” said sophomore Gillian Bennett.

In between performances, the televised event showed a video montage of citizens, doctors, and nurses around the world giving back, or taking care of people who are affected with COVID-19.

Many other stars have also been performing from their homes on Instagram such as John Legend, Dua Lipa, BTS, JoJo, James Blake and Chris Martin.

During the I Heart Radio broadcast, Elton John called Lizzo and during this call, they chatted and gave each other and the public advice on how to cope through these tough times. Lizzo also stated that she has hopes that people will be more kind to each other after this is over.

Elton John than proceeded to close the event by playing one of his hit songs, “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me” on piano.

“It was very moving. They incorporated not only music but dedicated many of the performances to the men and women who are on the front line during this difficult time!” said D’ Agostinis.
