Timothy McIntosh Named to USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team

On May 19, senior Timothy McIntosh of the Men’s Sacred Heart men’s volleyball team was selected to the USA Volleyball Collegiate National team. McIntosh was one of 16 players selected.

According to Sacred Heart Athletics, because of the coronavirus pandemic, athletes were selected via an open video tryout. In addition to the video, athletes were able to share game film and statistics. USA volleyball selected athletes from these resources, and the team was made up of five outside hitters, five middle blockers, two opposites, two setters, ad two liberos.

USA Volleyball wanted to recognize the athletes hard work, despite the team being unable to train and compete together this summer because of the pandemic.

On Mar. 31, McIntosh was selected to First Team All-EIVA following a senior season in which played in 55 sets over 16 matches. McIntosh led the team with 3.09 digs per set. Offensively, Mcintosh had 43 kills and a .120 hitting percentage.

In two seasons at Sacred Heart, McIntosh played in 96 sets of the 35 matches played. McIntosh had 227 digs, 2.36 a set and hit .119 over the two seasons.
